Christine Young-Robinson was raised in New York, and now resides in Columbia, South Carolina. She turned to writing as a form of relaxation around 1995.
Isra the Butterfly Gets Caught for Show and Tell, her first children's book, was
inspired by her granddaughter and put into print to share with other children.
Mrs. Young-Robinson is the recipient of the Carrie Allen McCray Award,
"Honorable Mention" for Juvenile Fiction given by the South Carolina
Workshop Conference and a recipient of the NEA'S Read Across America Certificate
of Participation, 2002. Also, she has participated in the African American
Read-In. She is a member of the Society of Children Writers and Illustrators and
the South Carolina Writer's Workshop.
She is presently working on a young adult book, Hip-Hop and Punk Rock. Her
short story, Miss Amy's Last Ride was featured in the anthology, Proverbs for
the People, edited by Tracy Price-Thompson and TaRessa Stovall, published by
Kensington, in June 2003.
